Weigela 'Kosteriana Variegata'
Oval, green leaves, edged with golden yellow from mid Spring until Autumn when they turn yellow and fall.
Pink, bell-shaped flowers produced in early summer, with intermitten flowers until autumn.
Ideal used in contrast with other foliage shrubs.
Plant as a specimen or en-masse.
Ideal for inclusion in mixed or shrub borders.
Can be fan-trained on exposed walls.
Suitable for: Full sun to medium shade on a wide range of soil conditions, except extremely dry. Hardy.
Height and spread in 10 years: 1.4m x 1.4m (4ft 6in x 4ft 6in). Protruding 1m (3ft) from support if fan-trained.
Planting: Soak the rootball before planting. Plant in hole twice the diameter of the rootball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.
Care: 3 years after planting, remove one in 3 of the shoots near to ground level after flowering, choosing the oldest. this will, in turn, maintain a good display of flowers and foliage.
